10 TIMES A YEAR: AMD ANNOUNCES THAT FSR 4 HAS SUPPORTED OVER 300 GAMES, DECENTRALIZED TO RDN 3 GRAPHIC CARDS FROM JULY

Authors

IT House News on 2 June, at Computex in 2026, AMD announced its over-resolution technology based on machine learning FSR 4, which is now officially supported in over 300 games.

This represents a 10-fold increase in the number of games supported in just over a year since March 2025, when the Radeon RX 9000 series of the RDNA 4 architecture was released.

FSR 4 supported only 30 games at the beginning of the release period and increased to 85 by September 2025. The real explosive growth occurred in the fourth quarter of 2025, and with the launch of the AMD FSR Redstone AI technical package, the number of matching games jumped from 85 to over 200 within a quarter.

The Redstone package, in addition to the ultra-resolution function of the FSR 4, includes photoregeneration techniques and brand-new AI frame generation functions designed to enhance optical tracking of drawings, which are considered to be key to promoting rapid ecological development. At present, FSR 4-supported formations already cover 3A major acts such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: The Goku.

FSR 4 was initially unable to run on an old graphic card because of the reliance on the FP8 AI hardware acceleration unique to the RDNA 4 architecture. However, AMD confirmed on Computex 2026 that the long-awaited downward compatibility plan, an optimized version of FSR 4.1, will bring an improved experience to millions of older users.

The Radeon RX7000 series of graphic cards based on the RDN3 architecture will be supported in July 2026, while support for the Radeon RX600 series based on the RDN2 architecture is planned to be opened early in 2027.

To fit these old structures that lack FP8 acceleration hardware, AMD has developed INT8 version FSR 4. This means that a large number of players can experience AI-driven graphic upgrades without having to buy a new graphic card, a technology that is also expected to benefit the RDNA 3.5-perception handheld devices.

As an extension of the RDNA 4 architecture, AMD also announced at this exhibition that its Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphic card, which is aimed at the middle market, will be officially placed on the global market to further expand the reach of the RDNA 4 game performance and value.

At the same time, AMD reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Platform, confirmed its continued support for the AM5 slot to 2029, and released the tenth anniversary version of the AM4 platform, which provides users with a flexible and diverse path to upgrade.
