According to information from IT House on June 4, Beijing is now moving forward with the construction phase 4.0 for the first “twilight” cities in the country, namely the Smart City Infrastructure and the Smart Network Automobile. This includes the ability to provide autonomous senses and real-time analysis at traffic points and to make red and green lights increasingly “smart”. Last year, the pilot Haidian Intelligence Traffic scene was launched, and this year has seen a massive landing.
It was reported that the “two-width” urban smart transport platform was a vehicle track and hologram that was generated using a 3D continuous fusion technology. These holograms are generated by data collection from various front-end sensor equipment, and complete restoration of real road conditions and vehicle elements. After real-time analysis of traffic traffic, platoon size and congestion at the intersection by large models, it is possible to generate approximately 200 signalling light sets in 50 seconds.
Thanks to this intelligent AI system, the red and green light at the intersection learned to think. It automatically adjusts the length of the green light to the actual condition of the road -- for example, when there's a traffic jam, the green light automatically increases the time between 1 and 15 seconds and adapts to the vehicle's traffic needs. The traditional red and green lamps, which are "fixed" time, are fixed 24 hours a day and the vehicles can only be released passively.
At present, the system is officially operational on line at 19 junctions in the Haydam area. Of these, 13 junctions in four junction areas increased the overall speed of cars by about 21 per cent and the congestion index fell by about 19 per cent after AI came online.
IT House noted that according to the Beijing Municipal Action Plan for Integrated Transport Management 2026, the city of Beijing will promote the digital upgrading of road traffic “one road city”. Launching of the pilot construction of active traffic control for the Jingha high-speed testing and certification area trunk network, and development and certification of key technologies such as the Proactive Traffic Control Artificial Intelligence Large Model to achieve real-time intelligent traffic control based on traffic. In conjunction with the construction of a dual-sense city, 4.0, the pilot experience of the Beijing High-speed Test Zone has been disseminated in an orderly manner, and the construction of a platform for the active traffic control of the municipal network of dry lines has been launched, with a view to moving towards co-management in the city of Gopo.
The Plan of Action shows that the total number of signals connected to Beijing City is 8000. There are 500 Green Wave Roads throughout the city. Dynamically adjust the driveway set up to complete the variable drive at no less than 10 points. 500 new off-site law enforcement monitoring equipment throughout the city. (c) Select 100 light control points with low night traffic, using flexible and varied control methods, to address the problem of “red light, etc., green light, etc.”.
