Of all the laptops posted on Computex 2026, the macro Swift Air 14 brings much-needed colour and benefit to a series of powerful (and very expensive) high-end PCs. Swift Air 14 at $699 is a competitive laptop with competitive specifications but does not feel cheap.

Swift Air 14, which will be released later this summer, is just one of a few Windows computers directly responding to Apple MacBook Neo. The $599 laptop completely subverted the cheap laptop market so that the PC brand was forced to respond in a few months.

Swift Air 14 has a unique colour, an upgraded storage space (up to 1TB) and a large capacity of fast-charge batteries. How does it compare to Neo? The following is a breakdown based on specifications, and remember that I used Swift Air 14 in person and did not test it for long periods.

Specifications

Apple MacBook Neo

Swift Air 14

Show

13 inches untouchable, 60Hz refresh rate, 2408 x 1506 resolution, 500 Nit

14 inches untouched, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 350 Nit

Both are very energy-efficient. However, Swift Air 14 has larger batteries (70 watt-hours, compared to 36.5 watt-hours in Neo), and macropods indicate that they last up to 19 hours in video-playing tests. This is due in part to the Core 7 “Wildcat Lake” series processor in Intel, designed for light, marathon laptops.

Swift Air 14 is also charged at a very rapid rate, which takes only 30 minutes to charge 50%, which is a smartphone-level charge that can further extend its useful life.

I should point out that, in theory, Neo's batteries are more efficient, but Swift Air 14's batteries are more efficient, which may provide more swing space for users who are particularly good at managing battery power. I estimate it's equivalent to actually working for 1-2 days.

2. Display

Winner: MacBook Neo

Neo's screen looks great at its price, and beats it compared to Acer Swift Air 14. It is brighter (500 Nit and 350 Nit), has a better resolution (neo is 2408 x 1506, macros are 1920 x 1200) and uses Apple ' s liquid retina technology to present live and clear images, which you may mistakenly think are more expensive laptops.

However, the performance on Swift Air 14 was good. It has a faster refresh rate (neo 120 Hz, Neo 60 Hz) and, although it is slightly lower, it is one inch larger (14 inches and 13 inches).

Camera and video call experience

Winner: MacBook Neo

One of the best things about MacBook Neo is that it can do well for Air and Pro. This includes FaceTime, Zoom, Teams or Google Meet on any video call experience. Neo was equipped with a 1080p FaceTime high-resolution camera, which was, in general, very good -- not just a laptop at this price. Neither the quality of the original camera nor the integration of smartphones can be compared with all the high-resolution cameras on Swift Air 14.

3. Port and I/O

Winner: Swift Air 14

Swift Air 14 has a fully functional port that can easily beat Neo. You have two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (neo only USB 3 and USB 2), as well as a USB-A port and a 3.5 mm audio plug. In other words, Swift Air 14 has more ports and faster. This is the standard I/O load you can find on any typical medium-end PC, and Neo's I/O settings are clearly more "budget."

Value

Winner: MacBook Neo

In the final analysis, MacBook Neo for students at $499 is the most cost-effective laptop in the current market. Put your hands down. If you are an educationer or a student, there are not many other products within the same price range that can bring the same quality experience, functionality and construction.

Acer Swift Air 14 starts with a start price of $699, which is equivalent to hardware, but RAM and storage options are slightly more numerous (Swift Air 14 can be upgraded to 1TB storage space, twice as much as Neo), but if you pursue purely economic benefits, Neo is unmatched. In fact, I would like to see a slight drop in Swift Air 14's initial configuration, and if you want to buy it on the market later this summer, I suggest you focus on sales prices.

Author choice.

As noted earlier, I have not had the opportunity to use Acer Swift Air 14 for a long time, but I believe it is a strong competitor of MacBook Neo, given my limited time. It has better/ quicker I/O, more storage and RAM options and a colourful palette, but it is still different from the 8GB RAM on Windows PC, Mac and PC.

So far, I have chosen Neo because its performance, user experience and performance are very good for this price. Neo is cheaper than Swift Air 14, which is incredible because it competes with it in many categories and even beats it. To date, Windows PC manufacturers have not fully resolved the student pricing problem of Neo 499.

Of course, Neo has a number of disadvantages (no keyboard backlight, fewer ports), but it compensates them with apple-rich integrated ecosystems, very good touch panels, stable performance and higher value.
