Acquisition of SFR: the future of Altice France’s MVNOs has been decided. Here is who takes over RED by SFR, Prixtel, Coriolis, Syma and Réglo Mobile

It was one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the sale of SFR: the future of RED by SFR and especially of virtual operators. But with the signing of an agreement between the consortium of buyers and Altice France, we now know the details of the distribution of SFR's assets. The future of the RED brand and the MVNOs Prixtel, Coriolis Télécom, Syma Mobile and Réglo Mobile seems clear.

More than 11 million subscribers to the SFR network divided between Free, Orange and Bouygues

Bouygues, Orange and the Iliad Group have decided to share the spoils between consumer activities, network infrastructures, B2B, frequencies, etc. as well as the low-cost branch and virtual operators. These total more than 11 million customers who would be distributed as follows:

- Bouygues Telecom would take over Prixtel and its 500,000 subscribers. The operator with flexible packages would join the large group of Bouygues MVNOs made up of Cdiscount Mobile, NRJ Mobile, Auchan Télécom, Crédit Mutuel Mobile, CIC Mobile, Source Mobile, and more recently, La Poste Mobile.

- Free would not take over any MVNO, having always avoided internal competition on its network. However, the telecoms troublemaker would take over all of RED by SFR's fixed and mobile customers, which represents 6 million subscribers.

- Orange would acquire the three remaining MVNOs: Coriolis Télécom, Syma Mobile and Réglo Mobile, which between them have 4.9 million customers. This would be a first for the historic operator which has not bothered with MVNOs until now. We can see this as a desire to strengthen its presence on the low-cost package market, for the moment represented only by the Sosh brand.

The new distribution of low-cost brands and MVNOs on mobile networks:

| Bouygues Telecom | Orange | Free |

| B&YOU | Sosh | RED by SFR |

| Prixtel | Coriolis Telecom | |

| Cdiscount Mobile | Syma Mobile | |

| NRJ Mobile | Réglo Mobile | |

| Auchan Telecom | YouPrice | |

| Crédit Mutuel Mobile | Lebara (?) | |

| CIC Mobile | ||

| Mobile Source | ||

| The Mobile Post | ||

| YouPrice | ||

| Lebara (?) |

What about YouPrice and Lebara?

Two MVNOs on the SFR network are missing: YouPrice and Lebara. The reason is simple: these virtual operators do not belong to Altice France, they simply rent the SFR network in order to market their mobile plans.

With the disappearance of the operator in the red square, we imagine that YouPrice will only offer offers on the mobile networks of Bouygues Telecom and Orange. The question is more delicate when it comes to Lebara which exclusively uses the SFR mobile network. The operator with prepaid plans would return to the Orange network, or that of Bouygues Telecom, or even both.
