According to information from IT House on 5 June, it was reported that the AEE25 aerial electric engine, which was developed by the Chinese Air Launch Control, had completed the first offline delivery today and would be equipped with an E20 electric vertical lift and landing vehicle (eVTOL) in Shanghai.
The IT House has been officially informed that this type of engine has achieved the first “six in one” of its kind in the country to be fully integrated, with a record of the highest twirl density of the country's 200kW class aviation electric engine, marking an important breakthrough in the critical technology of the country's aviation electric engine, with performance at an internationally advanced level.
As a power system for the electric vertical lift vehicle (eVTOL), the AEE25 engine integrates the six core components of the main electric generator, the main electric controller, the cooling system electric generator, the cooling system electric controller, the deranged rudder and the deranged rudder controller, and achieves the “six in one” integrated and fully integrated design, which is the most integrated aerial electric engine in the country.
According to Liu Quiping, Deputy Director, China Launch Control, AEE25 is a highly integrated product that, for an aircraft manufacturer, can be put into operation by installing a propeller and connecting the power supply and the bus, thus significantly simplifying the aircraft ' s design process.
At the same time, the engine uses a double-dip design in terms of safety - all engines are configured in two sets and all controllers are set up in two channels to ensure that power output can still be guaranteed in the event of a single point of failure. This design concept is designed to provide a higher level of safety redundancy for aircraft in subsequent commercial operations.
In terms of progress in research and development, the AEE25 aerodynamic engines are now simultaneously entering the seaworthy forensic phase, with the first engine delivered to be mounted on five man-portable rotary-wing vehicles.
The advantage of a rotary wing, combined with vertical lift and efficient cruise, is one of the main technical routes in the current eVTOL field. Prior to that, the China Air Launch Control Agency had launched multiple 100-kilowatt-class integrated propulsion products such as J250 ST001, with some of the technology indicators at the national lead, and had completed commissioning on multiple eVTOL models.
