AMD EXPO ULL Super Low Delayed Memory Bar Pricing is expected to hold the existing product flat with a maximum DDR5-6000 game performance up 13-15%

On 3 June, the IT House informed that during the international computer exhibition in Taipei 2026, AMD published a new EXPO Ultra Low Latecy (known as EXPO ULL) memory technology and indicated that it would be supported by multiple memory partners.

AMD Vice President and Ryzen with David McAfee, Managing Director of Radeon Enterprise, disclosed more details about EXPO ULL in an interview with Tom's Hardware.

According to McAfee, the EXPO ULL is in essence adjusted by adding more sub-times/ sub-times to the SPD configuration file, thus further reducing delays and acquiring additional performance. The technology is compatible with existing chip sets and the main panel.

He stated that the EXPO technology was constantly evolving and that AMD had been working with various memory model manufacturers to advance development. Although he was not sure whether there was a need to update BIOS, he “recommended that all readers update your BIOS”. In addition, the memory supporting EXPO ULL will carry a new authentication mark, so that “these memory links will be clearly different”.

According to the AMD test of more than 30 games on the R79700X platform, the average frame is 4% higher than the standard EXPO and 13% higher than the JEDEC standard DDR5-5600 when the EXPO memory is running at the DDR5-6000 frequency. In the 1% Low frame, there is also a 4% increase in the standard EXPO, and a 15% increase in the standard JEDEC memory.

On the price side, McAfee states that while AMD does not directly control memory prices, “the information the company received from its partners indicates that they expect to launch new products at essentially the same price as existing packages”.

He pointed out that the essence of EXPO ULL was simply “to expand the time series so that DIMM could perform every single ultra frequency performance”, and that there was no reason to lead to a substantial increase in product prices.

AMD has not yet published a specific listing date for EXPO ULL, indicating only that the functionality will be “recently launched” and that support has been confirmed by several memory manufacturers, such as Chi Chi, Kingston, Rexha, Wigang, XPG, X铨, Allo, Coven and Origin Code. Follow-up of the IT House will remain focused.
