ArenaNet will announce new GuildWars content on June 5

Authors

ArenaNet has posted a teaser for new GuildWars content. It is not known whether this is an expansion for one of the existing Guild Wars games or whether the developer will announce a new game. ArenaNet will provide more information during Summer Game Fest on June 5.

ArenaNet shares the short video teaser on social media from the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 accounts. “The wind is rising. The world is changing. Be ready,” ArenaNet writes with the teaser. The video shows a picturesque image of Tyria with a knight wearing gold armor and an extended sword. On its own X account, ArenaNet writes that 'big things' are about to happen in the games industry.

It is not clear whether this is an expansion or a completely new game. An expansion seems less likely, as ArenaNet shares the video on the channels of both Guild Wars games. It may be a new game in the mmorpg series or a spin-off. Parent company NCSoft has posted several vacancies in 2023 for a card game based on Guild Wars. The following year, a game called Lion's Arch: GuildWars Arena was released on SteamDB. ArenaNet decided not to comment after questions from PCGamer.
