ASRock expands Taichi series with tandem OLED screens

Authors

ASRock is showing off a set of new gaming monitors at Computex. The luxurious Taichi series is being expanded with a 720Hz screen with tandem WOLED panel. There will also be a 27" 4k version with RGB sub-pixel format next year.

The newly presented screens are the Taichi TCO27QXB and TCO27USB, which follow the Taichi TCO27QXA that ASRock had already presented at CES. That was a QD OLED monitor with 2560x1440 pixels and a 500Hz refresh rate, but the TCO27QXB and TCO27USB are based on Woled panels. ASRock has opted for a glossy finish, which the TCO27QXA with its QD OLED panel also has.

The TCO27QXB has a 2560x1440 pixel resolution, just like the TCO27QXA. The refresh rate is slightly higher at 540Hz and, like other screens with this panel, the TCO27QXB also supports a dual-mode function: 1280x720 pixels at 720Hz.

The TCO27USB is one of the first monitors to be shown with a 27" Woled panel with RGB sub-pixel layout. Just like the ASUS model, it has a 4k resolution (3840x2160) and a 240Hz refresh rate, with a dual-mode function for 480Hz at 1920x1080 pixels. At 1000cd/m², the peak brightness is slightly lower than the TCO27QXB, due to the lack of a white subpixel.

ASRock says the TCO27QXB should be released towards the end of the year for $699. The TCO27USB will follow in early 2027 for an as yet unknown price.

In addition to luxury screens, ASRock also showed off a bunch of cheaper monitors in its Phantom Gaming line. The PGO27QSA and its white brother PGO27QSA-W are 27" QD OLED monitors with 2560x1440 pixel resolution and 240Hz refresh rate.

In line with other budget OLED screens with this panel, it has a maximum brightness of 400cd/m² and a full-screen brightness of 200cd/m². Height adjustment is available. ASRock says the monitor should be released soon, for 399 euros.

The PG34QSR will be available in September, but no price has been announced yet. This is a 34" ultrawide with 1500R curved VA panel. That has the usual 3440x1440 pixels. The 200Hz screen has a dual-mode function that we haven't seen very often on these types of ultrawides; you can switch to 400Hz and a 1720x720 pixel resolution.

According to ASRock, this screen has a brightness of 400cd/m² and a 90 percent coverage of DCI-P3. DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports at 2.0 speed and a headphone out are available, plus speakers. This monitor also has height adjustment.
