This year, ASUS will release the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro, the company's first Wi-Fi 8 router. The router will be released in the third quarter and costs 899 euros. The company's first mesh set will also be released around that time, although the price is not yet known.

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro will have a Broadcom chipset, the manufacturer said at the Computex fair. The company showed a prototype at CES, when it was reportedly a Qualcomm chipset. In the second half of this year, ASUS will also launch its first Wi-Fi 8 mesh set, called ZenWiFi BN12. The price is not yet known.

The announcement of the Wi-Fi 8 equipment is striking. The standard is not expected to be completed until next year. ASUS' equipment has therefore been developed based on the not yet final standard. Wi-Fi 8 focuses more on stability than speed, yet ASUS previously said the new Wi-Fi 8 router would achieve up to 10 percent faster throughput than a comparable Wi-Fi 7 model. TP-Link will also release its first Wi-Fi 8 router this year.
