BodyFit: Withings launches its new, more accessible connected scale in France

This Tuesday, Withings officially announced the launch of its connected scale in France with availability from next month.

Like the Withings Body Scan or the Body Scan 2 – announced last January – the new Withings BodyFit has a handle.

A scale to analyze body composition in detail

Concretely, it is thus capable, thanks to eight electrodes – two for each foot and each hand – of analyzing the segmented body composition and identifying the fat or muscle mass present in the arms, legs or torso. Above all, according to a study published last year by Withings, the measurements of its scales would be as effective as reference DEXA measurements of around 99% for the fat mass rate or 98% for the muscle mass rate.

Unlike the Body Scan 2, however, the scale is not equipped with a screen on the handle, but only on the scale itself. Each weigher is, however, capable of analyzing up to 40 health and body composition indicators without going as far as the “health station” functions of the Body Scan 2.

Price and availability of the Withings BodyFit

Above all, where the BodyFit differs from the Body Scan 2, it is in terms of price positioning.

While the Body Scan 2 will be launched in France at 499.99 euros, the BodyFit is announced at a price twice as high, of 249.95 euros, much more attractive than the brand's top-of-the-range model.
