According to information from IT House on 4 June, according to press reports, the Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering stated at the 33rd Annual Conference and Exhibition and Automotive Innovation Technology Fair on 3 March that “Fift Five” was a critical stage in the country's car industry's progress from its expansion to its full quality.
Hou Fu-tai expects that over the next five years, there will be a trend towards accelerated upgrading of electrodynamic technologies, the expansion of intellectual change to the whole industry chain, and the deep re-engineering of the competition for the Central and Foreign Automotive Industry. It is expected that by 2030, new energy models will account for more than 70 per cent of new passenger vehicle sales, L3 and L4 self-driving will account for more than 35 per cent of new passenger vehicles, and our foreign car sales will reach nearly 10 million, making internationalization an important growth pole for high-quality industrial development.
According to information from IT House, the former Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Communications made similar predictions earlier this year: by 2030, new energy vehicles would become the absolute subject of the car market and domestic penetration would exceed 70 per cent. By the end of the “Fifty-five” period, the goal of a new energy-powering automobile is expected to be achieved ahead of schedule.
In January of this year, the Chinese electric car analyst, Sichuan, predicted: While the domestic automobile market in China has continued to grow, the expansion of overseas markets has become even more important for Chinese firms. If current trends continue, by 2030, China ' s electric automobiles will be one third of the global market.
