On 3 June, according to information from the IT House, the national public security organs have made further efforts to implement the “net net” initiative, maintaining a high level of pressure on crimes against citizens' personal information. According to news reports today, the Sanxi Taipei security network has been heavily punched and recently succeeded in dismantling a criminal group that specializes in illegal registration and trading in cross-border electric shops.

The report mentions that, since January 2026, three people, Yang, Han and Hao, have joined together to set up “workshops” for the purpose of making illegal profits, and that the division of labour for the illegal acquisition of citizens’ real names, mass registered electricity stores, and high-priced resales has resulted in a “black chain” of “acquisitions of information – mass registrations – promotion of foster numbers – higher-priced resales” – which seriously violates citizens’ personal information, while providing “tool account numbers” for crimes such as cross-border fraud, false operations, and money-laundering, among other things.

At present, three of the persons involved have been held in criminal detention by the territorial public security authorities in accordance with the law.

The IT House reminds that when filling out personal information, it is important to choose a formal and credible channel and to avoid the arbitrary disclosure of sensitive information such as identity card numbers, contact details, home addresses, etc.; to be vigilant and not to lose faith in each other ' s identity when you receive a call from a stranger; to regularly check the phone app, the privacy authorization set on social platforms, and to close unnecessary access.
