Cooler Masters HAF and Silencio cabinets have extra cooling and are quiet

Authors

Cooler Master showed several new enclosures during the Computex fair. The HAF II 500 stands out, among other things, because it has large 220mm fans at the front and a large fan at the rear. The Silencio also stands out because of its remarkable fabric front that blocks noise but at the same time allows air to pass through.

The enclosures can be seen at the Computex fair in Taiwan. The HAF II 500 is a cabinet that is specifically designed for good airflow; HAF stands for High-Air Flow in this series. The HAF II 500 is particularly notable for its large fans. At the front there are two fans of 220mm wide and 40mm thick. The fan at the back is the same thickness, but slightly smaller at 180mm.

On the front of the case there is a panel with large, open slots behind which there is a mesh net. The case has room for two video cards and can accommodate e-ATX motherboards. The HAF II 500 should be for sale from July and will cost around 210 euros.

Silencio with fabric

The Silencio 600 also stands out. This is a new model in the existing range that is intended to be extra quiet. Unlike previous Silencio models, the 600 has a more striking front. It is not sleek and smooth, but has showy slits. The fabric finish, unlike other Silencios, is visible not only from the inside but also from the outside.

According to Cooler Master, this design and material prevents noise well, but at the same time the case allows air to enter so that the PC does not become very hot on the inside. Two fans at the front, 180mm wide and 40mm thick, should provide extra cooling. The design that Tweakers saw on the exhibition floor was not yet final. According to Cooler Master, the cabinet should be on the market in October for around 160 dollars, the equivalent of around 167 euros.
