European Parliament default search engine from Google Switch to Qwant
According to internal e-mail, the default search engine for computers in the European Parliament will begin on June 4th. Go.The ogle switch to the French search engine Qwant, which is based on considerations of digital sovereignty and privacy. Qwant is described as a European search engine centred on privacy, which does not track users or collect personal data. Founded in 2013, Qwant highlights privacy protection and provides users with an alternative to Google. Searches through the Firefox and Edge browser address bar will automatically lead to Qwant, but the members of the European Parliament are still free to use other search engines or change their default settings. The European Commission was strengthening technology sovereignty, reducing reliance on foreign technology suppliers and fostering European indigenous technology.
