For Nova Lake: Intel LGA 1954 Commercial Platform Q970 Main Board Exposure

Authors

On June 6th, the IT House news is that as the next generation of Nova Lake processors approach their release, more information about their supporting platforms is emerging.

Following multiple Z990, Z970, Z970, during Computex 2026, @momomo us today exposed another LGA 1954 panel based on Q970 chips.

The exposed Q970 main panel clearly marked the LGA 1954 slot, but the next generation processor was called the "Wise Ultra 300S Series Desktop Processor", which was actually a clerical error, because Nova Lake-S should be named as the smart Ultra 400S series.

The Nova Lake desktop processor will use a new LGA 1954 slot with five chip sets Z990, Z970, Q970, B960 and W980.

Q970 Chips are dedicated to commercial and workstation market development, which, like W980, will support Intel vPro, but do not have memory overfrequency and memory CPU Overfrequency capability.

In terms of memory, this Q970 main plate provides two DDR5 CUDIMM memory slots with original support of up to 128 GB capacity.

The storage component, which is equipped with an SATA and NVMe interface, contains two M.2 slots, but only one of which is used for storage, indicating that it is the main board of the station that is located.

In terms of extension, this panel provides PCIe 5.0 x 16 and PCIe 5.0/4.0 x4 slots, and up to three 2.5 GbE cable outlets.

In terms of output, the panel is equipped with HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4a interfaces, as well as multiple USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 interfaces, although it is not clear whether it contains USB Type-C interfaces.
