Galaxy Watch: the Samsung Health app is getting a major overhaul with AI recommendations

Authors

Next month, Samsung should lift the veil on its next generation of connected watches with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Ahead of the presentation, the Korean manufacturer announced a major overhaul of its smartphone application linked to health, sports and activity data, Samsung Health.

To go further

What are the best Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatches in 2026?

Like what Google was able to offer with the Fitbit application, transformed into Google Health, the new Samsung Health application aims not only for better readability, but above all the integration of numerous AI tips in order to put your scores and data into perspective.

An application reorganized around five pillars

Now, the Samsung Health app will be organized with five different tabs:

- welcome

- sleep

- activity

- nutrition

- mindfulness

- vital signs

In each category, the application will highlight the relevant data measured by the Galaxy Watch, such as sleep time or the different phases for the sleep category, or the number of steps and daily cardio load for activity.

Samsung is also introducing new indicators such as its new “vitals” index (vital signs in French). Like the application of the same name on Apple Watch or the Garmin health status, the idea is to know, every day, if five indicators are within the norm or if the values are below or beyond what they should be. It will thus take into account five criteria measured during the night: heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen level.

New AI-generated advice

Finally, Samsung specifies that it has integrated advice generated by AI into the various data and scores of its application:

This advancement marks a key milestone in Samsung's overall vision: to deliver a truly AI-powered health platform, designed to help users take control of their health.

For example, Samsung specifies that “from the home screen, users can now easily access their daily wellness tips, right next to their AI-calculated Energy Score.”

The Samsung Health update will gradually be rolled out to all users starting Monday, June 8.
