GOG sent out a newsletter on June 5th about the game The End of the Sun, which included symbols related to the Nazi SS. The Steam competitor issued a statement saying the inclusion was due to a "series of mistakes", including miscommunication with the German QA team, inconsistent font rendering, and staff shortages during the bank holiday.

The game is a fantasy title set in a universe based on Slavic mythology and culture. So GOG included Slavic runes in emails promoting the title, including the symbol Sowilō, meaning "sun." According to one of GOG's many comments, some platforms, including phones, rendered the rune as ϟ.
"We are also aware that placing the two runes side by side may lead to unfortunate associations with symbols used by the Nazi regime. This was discovered prior to distribution and out of respect for local sensitivities, the material was not sent to the German community."
This left many users questioning why the newsletter was sent to different regions and why the symbols were doubled in the first place.
Game developers also expressed confusion through a Reddit thread, saying, "We don't know why GOG used the symbol in the newsletter. In fact, we were completely surprised when we saw the logo (the original logo) and the symbol next to the newsletter title."
