Google has given us a glimpse of a series of customization options dedicated to Google Messages. Inspired by Samsung Messages, the Mountain View firm wants to offer its users the ability to modify the color palette of a conversation, apply predefined themes or even personalize the style of the background by adding their own images.
Personalization that doesn’t stop there. Users will be able to count on two new options with the integration of GIFs in the background as well as a redesigned dark mode.
A lively conversation
According to testing conducted by Android Authority, users should have no problem embedding the GIFs they want from their library into their conversations.
All that remains is to choose the right GIF so as not to get distracted when writing a message. In terms of readability, some users may also have difficulty reading depending on the color palette they have assigned.
A problem that could be resolved by implementing a dark mode dedicated to these personalized formats.
Adding a dark overlay provides a level of readability whether for text or conversation icons, reports Android Authority.
Currently, these features are only accessible in the Google Messages beta code. Users of the latter should soon have access to it before a gradual deployment to all users.
