The Google Pixel 10a borrows a lot from the Pixel 9a

The Google Pixel 10a is a good smartphone but which, for the first time in the history of "a", uses the same chip as its predecessor, the Tensor G4 of the Pixel 9a. That's not all, since we also find the same 5,100 mAh battery, 48, 13 and 13 Mpx photo sensors with a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED screen at 60-120 Hz adaptive, but not LTPO, which displays Full HD+. There are still some new features, otherwise this new model would make no sense.

Starting with the completely flat photo module, which means that the smartphone does not move when it is placed on a table. The protective glass goes from a Gorilla Glass 3 to a Gorilla Glass 7i, with a brightness that goes up to 3,000 nits compared to 2,700 nits. Wired charging improves to 30W versus 23W before, with 10W wireless charging (up from 7.5W). It is also lighter, more compact and offers an AirDrop compatible QuickShare function.

A good impression once in hand

The Google Pixel 10a is particularly pleasant to handle and use. Its new format is appreciable, without forgetting the new colors which flatter the eye, in particular the raspberry red which is very flashy. If the chip has not changed, the experience remains fluid, even on the most demanding 3D games, without throttling or excessive heating measured during our tests.

Where it also stands out is in the use of AI, with for the first time a satellite SOS function, a photo coach to guide you in framing, composition and lighting. And the fun Nano Banana feature: when you send a photo via Messages, you can edit it on the fly via a prompt that you write.
