Google Electronic wallet ID pass will be launched in some EU countries this summer.

The company also launched a new age validation process in cooperation with a European bank.

Go.ogle announced that, starting this summer, Google's wallet will support digital identity cards in some EU countries. Thanks to cooperation with Sparkasse Bank, the digital ID extension also includes a new method of age verification through Google wallets.

The bulletin did not specify which European Union countries would be able to add their identity documents to Google wallets, but the process might be similar to the way the application supported the addition of passports in the United Kingdom and the United States. Users are usually required to record their own photographs, scan government-issued identity documents, and then cross-reference both in Google's wallet before they can be added to the application.

Since early 2025, Google has been in compliance with the UK Online Security Act and various age-validation laws in the United States and abroad, establishing support for age-validation. The company introduced zero proof of knowledge technology in Google's wallet in April 2025, enabling the application to use ID to safely verify your age. The new integration of Google wallets with Sparkasse Bank seems to be an example of what this technology has achieved. Sparkasse clients will be able to confirm their age through Google electronic wallets without having to disclose details such as name, address or date of birth.

Google indicated that, in addition to these identification and age verification functions, it had made it easier to settle accounts using Google Pay. Now, if the EU online vendor supports Google Pay, you can choose and pay using one of the payment options stored in Google electronic wallets, just like using Apple. Pay, same. Google indicated that it had also upgraded the security payment authentication function so that EU clients could use Google Pay on the European website only for biometric verification, without providing a one-off password or access to other identification sites.
