IFixit, tearing down China's northern fortress. Apple. Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Max 2, AirPods Pro 3: Poor internal work, missing core functions

Authors

I.T. House, June 7th, repairing the dismantling site, iFixit recently visited Shenzhen, China, to buy a copy of the model. Apple. Watch Ultra 3 Smart Watch, AirPods Max 2 and AirPods Pro 3 were taken back to the studio for decomposition testing.

iFixit describes in the video that China is the hub for most electronics maintenance parts worldwide. It also sells counterfeit products, which appear to be very different from real products, but where they are carefully checked, or internal structures are examined, as is the case with this dismantling, the difference between true and false is revealed.

Dismantling the emulation Apple Watch Ultra 3

Staff member Shahram Mohtari picked up this high-simulation watch and went into the operating system and found that any application by clicking on the dashboard would only open the night mode and the interface would turn red and would not open the corresponding application.

He also mentioned that the tactile motor of the product was clearly different; most of the sensors, except for the heart rate sensors, were printed only on plastics (the originals used are ceramics or sapphires).

The IT House notes that when the machine is removed, it can be seen that the imitation carries 260 m-hour batteries, which are less than half the capacity of the body. Batteries are fixed and loose within the shell and are welded on the main plate only by a conductor.

Dismantling the emulation AirPods Max 2

Like Apple Watch Ultra 3, this high-end headphone is in hand, and the difference between material, quality and work and good is clearly felt. Its casings are plastic and are not solid aluminium alloys; ear covers are also softer than real.

The pressure feedback hand of the key is not reconciled, and the emulation does not have active noise and penetration patterns. It does, however, recapitulate the prototyping function, as well as the effects of the exclusive bullet window and animation during the first pair.

The staff member was unable to identify the battery type when the ear mask cavity was removed. In the process of dismantling, a number of welding lines are easily removed. In addition, several metal cylinders were added to the fuselage for the sole purpose of imitating the weight of the body.

Dismantling Hypothesis AirPods Pro 3

Of the three, the third generation AirPods Pro has the highest appearance restoration. Staff indicated that it was almost impossible for the naked eye to distinguish between true and false, with the exception of minor differences in the stitches.

But the internal structure of both is very different. When you try to remove a silicone ear plug, the whole front end of the headphone is taken off and several links are broken. Follow-up checks revealed that earplugs were placed directly on the headphone body.

Further observation through CT scans, more cracks surface:

The product does not carry the microphone of the micromechanical electric system; the sound unit is crude and the internal structure is so poor that it should have used the position of a soft line and only the normal copper wire welding, which are typical imitations.

A closer look at the internal structure also reveals that the cylindrical headphone cavity design and the first-generation AirPods are similar and that small circuit boards can slide directly out of the headphone handle. As expected, no core element such as a noise mic, heart rate sensors, etc., is active.

The final dismantling of the charger was seen to be equally poor in-house work and without any specification of the battery.
