The iPhone 17e is the latest member of the iPhone 17 family in an upgraded version of the "e" series launched last year with the initial iPhone 16e. Its start-up price is Pound599 ($699 €599/$999/$AUS) at Pound200 and Pound100 less than iPhone 17 and iPhone 16, respectively, making iPhone the cheapest new price for apple sales.

The new 17e, similar to the model it replaced, uses a design similar to the old iPhone 14, with a large dent at the top of the screen and a slower 6.1 inch OLD screen. Rapid chips and long battery lifetime

17e Adopts a normal iPhone 17 A19 chip, but a GPU core is missing, which reduces graphic performance slightly. No one may notice because the cell phone is very fast and can still handle the top game. It also has a standard storage space of 256 GB, which should be sufficient for most people, and additional cloud backup.

Batteries also continue for a long period of time, and when commonly used under 5G and WiFi, charging can last 52 hours, which means that most people need to charge every other night.

17e Some of the more advanced hardware functions common to apples and other mobile phones are lacking, including WiFi 7, Thread and Superbroadband (UWB), which are used for such functions as precise search tools and some digital car keys.

Sustainable development

Batteries should be able to last more than 1,000 fully charged cycles, at least 80 per cent of their original capacity, at a replacement cost of Pound95. The cost of maintaining the screen beyond the warranty period was Pound225. 17e Provides maintenance guidelines and is rated by expert iFixit as full of 7 points of repairability.

It contains more than 30% of recycled materials, including aluminium, cobalt, copper, glass, gold, lithium, plastics, rare earth elements, steel, tin and tungsten. In its report, the company provided a detailed analysis of the impact of mobile phones on the environment and a new and free recycling plan, including non-plate products.

Camera

17e There is a 48MP camera on the back, so, like iPhone Air, there is a lack of hyperwide angle and long focus options, which means that if you cannot move back and forth to the target, you will not be able to take a photograph.

The camera can at least take a good picture under a variety of lighting conditions and can manage a 2-fold shear to achieve a small magnification multiplier. It can now automatically capture a photo of a person in the main photo mode, so that you can change the focus and depth of the photo after the fact. It's a pity that 17e lacks microphotography. It also has the same 12MP self-censorship camera as the old iPhone, which is good, not the apple's latest 18MP auto-diversion central stage camera.

Judgement

Apples are slowly adding more iPhone core features to its cheaper "e" series, which makes iPhone 17e more worth buying than last year's iPhone 16e.

This includes most of the functions you expect: fast chip, Face ID, MagSafe, long battery lifetime and access to all software. The screen is good, but it's slower and less fluid than the other iPhone 17 products. The older designs lack camera control buttons, often light screens and have a large dent on the top, but still have a good sense of hand.

One of the greatest disadvantages is the individual camera on the back, which can take a great picture, but limits the type of photograph you can get. If you're totally interested in photography, then this phone is not for you.

As with its predecessor, 17e only makes sense if you want the absolute cheapest new iPhone for apples and not for any other product. For others, iPhone 16 can be purchased from a third-party retailer at approximately the same price or less for refurbishment.

Advantages: Speed, screen, size, operation button, USB-C, battery long life, MagSafe, long-term software support, Face ID, at least 256 GB storage space.

Shortcomings: Single cameras, no microspace mode, no camera control button, old screen design, no wfi 7, no Thread or UWB, still expensive.
