Microsoft release smart terminal version 0.1: Autodetect Shell command error, now open Load

News from IT House 3 June, Microsoft announced the launch of the new Intelligent Teleminal at the Build 2026 Development Conference.

This terminal integrates AI programming capabilities directly into the command line environment (default use) GitHub Copilot CLI, also supports all AI smarts that follow the Agent Clinic Protocol (ACP) protocol.

Its core interface is a dockable Agent pane. This window can sense the current Shell output context. When the command entered by the user fails, the terminal automatically detects the error and shows an indication icon on the status bar. The user clicks on the icon or press Ctrl+Alt+. to open the Agent pane that has loaded the wrong context.

Microsoft's official description says: “Intellectuals can explain what happened and suggest or run the best fixes. You can configure the Inteligent Terminal in the settings only to automatically detect errors, or to automatically recommend fixes at the same time.

As the figure shows, the smart body status bar is defaulted on the bottom of the window, with the left side containing the switch buttons for displaying/ hiding the smart body window and the error detection icon, and the right side is the smart body management icon. Through the smart body management panel (which can be used to press Ctrl+Shift+/open at any time), the user can view all active intelligents and their current state, as well as backtrackable historical sessions.

In addition, the command panel provides another Quick Start smart body task entry: Enter? After following a tip or a task, the terminal will inject the context of the current window and activate the smart body in the background tab so as not to block the current Shell operation.

Inteligent Terminal Version 0.1 is now installed in Microsoft and can be used by users through execution

Undertake installation. This application can be installed alongside existing Windows Telminal and does not affect the experience of the mainline Terminal. Microsoft also announced that, after this version is released, the Terminal Chat function in the Canary channel will be discarded. All configurations are done through the "Agent" part of the Terminal settings, including the selection of intelligent bodies and models, the repositioning of windows (up, down, left, right) and the setting of automatic error detection.
