Minisforum shows new mini PCs including NAS with 5 M.2 slots

Authors

Minisforum is launching new mini PCs based on Intel's Wildcat Lake processors. One of them, the S5, is especially suitable as a NAS because it can accommodate five SSDs. The M2 Air-304 is an average mini PC. In addition, the company is showing new versions of previous NAS and mini PCs with better chips such as the Ryzen AI Max+ SoC.

The devices were on display at the Computex fair in Taiwan. Minisforum shows there, among other things, the All Flash S5. This is a mini PC that works as a NAS because the device has, among other things, five M.2 2280 slots with PCIe 4.0. According to Minisforum, this makes it possible to place up to 40TB of storage in the device.

It is also striking that the PC has an Intel Core Series 3 processor, the Wildcat Lake SoC that Intel announced earlier this year. The S5 will be released in August or September, but Minisforum does not say what the device will cost.

Standard mini PC

Minisforum also shows the M2 Air-304. That is a fairly standard mini PC as we have seen before from the company. That device also contains Intel's Wildcat Lake processor, with integrated Xe3 GPU. The device also has a maximum of 64GB DDR5 memory and can support an M.2 2280 SSD. The model has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, and has two 2.5Gbit ports.

There is also a USB4 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port and a standard USB 2.0 Type-A port on the back of the model. The mini PC also has two HDMI 2.0 ports and can play video over DisplayPort 1.4 via the USB4 port. Minisforum does not mention a price for this either, but the PC should come onto the market in August.

New N5 and MS-03

Finally, the company shows a new version of the N5, its first NAS that it released last year. The N5 Max mainly has a better CPU. That's a Ryzen AI Max+ soc. The NAS will be released next week and costs 2800 euros. In addition, Minisforum has also released a new mini PC in the MS series. That's the MS-03, which has a Panther Lake processor and a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for an expansion video card. That model will be released at the end of June, for an as yet unknown price.
