Noble Audio launches FoKus Artemis headphones with three drivers and ANC
The $899 model uses dynamic, planar magnetic, and balanced armature drivers.
Noble Audio likes to do things differently. With its FoKus Apollo headphones, the company has combined the typical dynamic drivers with planar magnetic drivers for a hybrid audio setup. For his final lap, Noble added a third driver to the mix. In the upcoming FoKus Artemis, the company is once again using dynamic and planar magnetic components, but it has combined them with a balanced armature driver.
Like the FoKus Apollo's hybrid sound platform, each driver type in the FoKus Artemis serves a different purpose. The dynamic driver common to the headphones does the heavy lifting and provides the bass. The planar magnetic driver gives the sound profile more openness and detail. And the balanced armature driver improves overall clarity. Noble Audio is best known for its in-ear monitors, but the company has also demonstrated its ability to make excellent quality earphones and headsets.
However, the audio configuration is not the only element of the technical sheet. The FoKus Artemis are a complete headset, with active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, multi-point connectivity, USB audio support and wear detection. If you need to customize the sound profile, Audiodo personalization technology is built in to adjust the audio to your hearing.
Noble promises over 35 hours of battery life with ANC turned on, or over 50 hours with noise cancellation turned off. Additionally, the 600 mAh battery is user replaceable. This, combined with the replaceable ear cushions, should help extend the life of the product.
The downside? These headphones aren't cheap at $899. The FoKus Artemis are available for pre-order from Noble Audio today and the headphones are expected to ship in July.
