Our country has made a major breakthrough in clean, low-carbon hydrogen coal combustion technology.

Today (7) journalists were informed by the National Energy Group that, for the first time ever, the country ' s self-developed hydrogen-fired technology achieved a 50 per cent green-hydrogen blend and 100 per cent pure hydrogen combustion, marking a major breakthrough in our clean low-carbon hydrogen-fired technology. This technology is built from hydrogen gas to furnaces using a fully autonomous hydrogen coal-fired low nitrogen burner. A fully-processed safety protection system that allows the full mixing of hydrogen with coal powder in the boiler and achieves a 50 per cent calorie-to-helicopter combustion on the test device. This means that coal-saving can be reduced by up to 50 per cent in the case of HYP and effective control over NOx generation is achieved. Our country has the largest coal-fired unit in the world, and the development of a green, low-carbon transformation in the coal-fired sector is of great relevance to the achievement of the “bicarbon” goal. This outcome confirms a promising technological path for our future coal-fired fleet to achieve significant carbon emission reductions and is important for the green and low-carbon transformation of our coal-fired power and for the integration of coal-fired power with new energy sources.
