Prime Minister Carney highlights new measures to combat anti-Semitism and support the Jewish community of Canada

This law significantly enhances criminal law by establishing a new crime against threats and disturbances in worship, schools, community centers and other facilities that can be identified.

In addition, we are promoting initiatives to combat online hatred and 。ent ex、ism in the community through the Canadian Community Participation and Prevention Center.

In 2026, we promised a $7 million contribution to the Canadian Community Security Program (CCSP). CCSP provides funds to communities that are at risk of hatred incidents and crimes. This helps organizations based on faith provide important security infrastructure, training to address hatred-based incidents, and additional security personnel as needed.

Our government always protects the uninvasive rights of Jews who live openly in free, safe and dignity. Protection is fundamental, but not enough. The Jewish community must be able to meet all aspects of the Canadian society.

In order to achieve this objective, Prime Minister Mark Carney today announced the launch and membership of the Ministerial。y Committee on the rights, equality, and inclusiveness of new Canada chaired by the Canadian Minister of Identity and Culture. - Develop a government-wide approach to anti-judaism and ensure that Federal policies, workplaces, public safety programs, and local communities work together in order to protect and hate Udah Canadians.

- Build a more powerful data sharing system to improve research and data collection on hatred incidents and to make all orders of government, school, and police services work based on the same facts.

- Improve the effectiveness of our efforts so that education, prevention, training, and local safety investments can bring real results and help build a safer Canada for everyone.

- In October 2025, the Canadian government announced that it will contribute to Canada’s community participation and prevention of ence. In 2024, the government issued a Canadian handbook on the IHRA work definition of anti-yudaism so that Canadians can understand and apply definitions.
