Prime Minister Carney highlights new measures to combat anti-Semitism and support the Jewish community of Canada

Authors

The basic、 of Canada is that it does not require uniformity. We believe that our difference is not a risk to be managed, but a strength to grow. We believe that faith, language, tradition and tradition are not a concession to citizenship, but a representation of citizenship.

Today, the Canadian Jewish Community faces the rise of anti-judaism to the level not seen after the war, and the nature has been tested. More than two- rds of all hatred crimes motivated by religion last year were directed to the Judean Canadian who accounted for just 1% of the population. The same cata phic drama has occurred all over the world, and it is anxious about Europe, Australia and the United States.

shy is common in the world. Our actions must be local. Canada’s new government introduced six laws to strengthen public safety and fight against anti-judaism and other forms of hatred. The most important part of these is the fight against hatred, which is the bill C-9, and is directly committed to increasing anti-yudaism, hatred 、ence, and targeting local communities. This law significantly enhances criminal law by establishing a new crime against threats and disturbances in worship, schools, community centers and other facilities that can be identified.

In addition, we are promoting initiatives to combat online hatred and 。ent ex、ism in the community through the Canadian Community Participation and Prevention Center.

In 2026, we promised a $7 million contribution to the Canadian Community Security Program (CCSP). CCSP provides funds to communities that are at risk of hatred incidents and crimes. This helps organizations based on faith provide important security infrastructure, training to address hatred-based incidents, and additional security personnel as needed.

Our government always protects the uninvasive rights of Jews who live openly in free, safe and dignity. Protection is fundamental, but not enough. The Jewish community must be able to meet all aspects of the Canadian society.

In order to achieve this objective, Prime Minister Mark Carney today announced the launch and membership of the Ministerial。y Committee on the rights, equality, and inclusiveness of new Canada chaired by the Canadian Minister of Identity and Culture. The Board of Directors has a clear mission. Canada to build a more fair, more fair and more comprehensive country, fighting all forms of humanity discri、 and hatredto the government.

Today, the Prime Minister instructed the Board of Directors to start with four different directions to anti-yudaism.

- Reevaluate the nature, scale, and promotion factors of anti-judaism in Canada over public institutions, workplaces, campuses and online spaces.

- Develop a government-wide approach to anti-judaism and ensure that Federal policies, workplaces, public safety programs, and local communities work together in order to protect and hate Udah Canadians.

- Build a more powerful data sharing system to improve research and data collection on hatred incidents and to make all orders of government, school, and police services work based on the same facts.

- Improve the effectiveness of our efforts so that education, prevention, training, and local safety investments can bring real results and help build a safer Canada for everyone.

The Council includes:

- Mark Gold, PC

- Martin Roy

- Kathrina Le May Duan

- Omar Argabra, P.C.

- Gary Laplante

- Dr. Aftaub Elfan

- Avnish Nanda

Our government has built a country where Jewish Canadians can be a Jewish, fully and full of joy, as school, workplace, on the street, synagogue, academy, art, and Canada are of them. This is what we are building today and is more fair, more robust, and more comprehensive Canada for everyone.

"National protection is the most basic responsibility of the government. As the anti-judaism rises rapidly in Canada, we believe that the Canadian community will be放elled by the hatred public authorities. We have built a country in which Jewish Canadians are visible, completely and fun in public.

Rt. Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada

“You shouldn’t feel danger to the reason why you are, how you worship, and where you are, now facing the horrible heights of hatred in our community. The ministerial advisory committee on rights, equality, and inclusive plays an important role in uniting communities with common values and confronting hatred and humanized discri。 in the community. By doing so, you will be able to live in Japan with safety and dignity without fear of Jewish Canadians and all Canadians.
