Resident Evil Veronica is a remake with what appears to be a first-person perspective

Capcom is working on a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica from 2000. The new part, simply called Veronica, will be released next year. The developer says the game has "modernized gameplay and a renewed storyline."

Capcom announced Resident Evil Veronica during Summer Game Fest. The developer is making a remake of the original horror game in which the main character finds himself in an apartment in Paris and seems to be robbed, but that's where the teaser ends.

The developer posted an announcement trailer online that shows a cutscene, but provides few details about the game. In any case, the trailer shows that the game takes place in a first-person perspective, but it is not clear whether the entire game can be played that way. That would be a break from previous remakes of Resident Evil games.

Resident Evil Veronica will be released in 2027 for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Details about the release date are not yet known.
