ASUS has released a new version of the ROG NUC 16. The only significant change compared to the earlier model is that it contains an RTX 5090, instead of an RTX 5080. The casing also has a bit more gold finish in various areas, but in terms of specifications it is practically the same device.
ASUS calls the device the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20, an upgrade of the regular ROG NUC 16 from last year, which Tweakers also reviewed at the time.
The new model is identical to the original in every respect. It uses the same CPU and supports up to the same memory. But the new device has a more powerful video card. This is a GeForce RTX 5090 with 24GB of GDDR7 vRAM, compared to the RTX 5080 with a maximum of 16GB of memory in the old model. The only other difference is that the new one has more gold finish in the case, but those are accents. The rest of the casing is still classic ROG and is more noticeable because of the form factor than those accents.
ASUS does not say when the model will become available and what it will cost.
