RollerGirl is a summer skating-skating adventure in a small town.
This video game of life is inspired by pop punk in the 2000s.
Sony's State of Play, Summer Games and Xbox Games are likely to attract widespread attention this week. However, there are many other presentations that highlight various types of games, usually under specific themes. One of them is The Voice of Blacks in Play, which brings the projects of black developers to the fore. During the show, a series of games drew my attention, of which Roller Girl was very prominent to me.
This is a story-driven life-story adventure, and you're going to play 16-year-old Naomi, who skats in town, looking for part-time jobs to earn enough cash to fix her car. She'll meet her first love and reveal a local mystery.
One summer in the mid-2000s, Naomi explored small towns while talking to and helping neighbours. You will find music that can be added to your collection throughout the town. The environment will change according to the emotions you hear - this will also affect dialogue options. The Toronto developer Pushing Vertices is working with local independent bands to produce the original tape, inspired by pop punks in the 2000s.
In a press release, Pushing Vertices Director-General Indigo Doyle said, "Roller Girl was inspired by my childhood as a small town, and I hope that the players can feel what we see and represent."
At first glance, Roller Girl looks cute, and I'll always appreciate a game for its creators. The distribution date for RollerGirl is not yet determined. The future will land on Steam.
