After all, the bike should be intuitive enough that you can theoretically figure it out on the fly. In fact, it is a wise idea to read the user manual first. The cockpit of Segway's new Myon e-bike has 11 individual buttons, toggles, switches and throttles, making it feel like the control panel of a small aircraft. On my first test drive, I was so distracted by the options that I almost crashed the car.
It's my fault. When I got home, read the manual, and rode the Myon a few more times, once I understood how it worked, I realized that the bike was loaded with features that increased visibility, improved ride quality, and reduced the chance of tears.
safety first
Segway's commitment to safety starts before you even turn on your bike. Myon is UL 2849 certified. This means that the electric drivetrain, battery and charger systems are tested to the highest American standards for fire safety. You might think this certification would be required for all ebikes sold in the U.S., but that's not the case yet. Having UL2849 certification will give you peace of mind and increase the chances that your local bike shop will fix your problem.
