Sony released SRG-AS10/XS10 camera: AI AutoTracker Map, 4K60P paint quality + 10 times optical focal

Authors

News from IT House 2 June, Sony China announced today the launch of two new PTZ cameras, SRG-AS10 for 4K60P PTZ cameras and SRG-XS10 for standard 4K60P PTZ cameras.

Both new products use a new generation of STARVIS 1/2.8 inches 4K image sensors developed by Sony, supporting 4K resolution and 60 frames per second high frame video.

Two cameras support 10 times the optical focal capacity at 4K resolution, while the focal multiplier is increased to 20 times when the long-focus conversion is activated in a high-resolution mode. In addition, the two types of machine support the output of all high-resolution drawings through ultrasampling techniques.

In terms of operational fluidity, the new product has a lower frustration and a more smoother operating hand during long-range smoothing or overhead control. At the same time, thanks to a more compact, light-body design, SRG-AS10 and SRG-XS10 can be more easily deployed in areas with limited space, such as classrooms, conference rooms, stadiums and even stage wings.

The core difference between SRG-AS10 and SRG-XS10 is that the former carries a new generation of AI smart graphics. The SRG-AS10 self-study of the Sony AI algorithm, which is built in, automatically identifies and keeps track of the subject, adjusts the structure intelligently, and thereby reduces the requirements for operator experience.

For specific applications, the camera also incorporated a basketball model. Under this model, the system automatically recognizes the range of the basketball court and tracks players and basketball, and completes a full automatic shoot with a wide angle.

IT House notes that the machine also has a multi-person tracking function, which supports up to 8 people in the picture at the same time, and maintains a natural balance in the image and applies to a multi-person view of meetings, classrooms, etc.

By contrast, SRG-XS10 is a model that is more focused on providing a base 4K PTZ function, suitable for a relatively simple application scenario where there is a mature filming process that requires automated functionality.

In terms of networks and interfaces, both cameras pre-assembled NDI HX2 and supported various IP streaming media transmission protocols, such as RTSP, RTMP and SRT, which were easily integrated into remote production processes based on the IP network.

The fuselage also supports the PoE++ power supply technology, which allows for simultaneous power supply, video signal transmission and equipment control through a single wire. Two devices also provide two traditional video output interfaces for SDI and HDMI.

Sony stated that the introduction of these two new items was designed to serve clients in the areas of government, business, education, to provide more intelligent and efficient solutions to assist users in the production of performances, ensembles, sports events, etc. Two new items are expected to be officially listed by the end of 2026.
