Sonny says your PlayStation will not check the game license every 30 days.
Rumours that the Sony New Digital Copyright Management (DRM) system may check PlayStation licences every 30 days do not seem to be true. Sony told Game File that although the screenshot released on X last week showed a clear “valid” length, the newly purchased digital game would be granted a permanent licence after an online check after the purchase.
“The player can continue to visit and play the game they buy, as usual”, a representative told Game File. “A one-time online inspection after purchase is required to confirm the game licence, after which no further inspection is required.”
Information about 30 days of permit entry has shocked PlayStation hosts and conservationists who fear that if the system is offline for more than a month, the game may not be able to play. The player who tested the theory found that setting PS4 or PS5 to the "main" host of the game (the way Sony authorized digital copyrights to be created) would not exceed the 30-day limit. This, in turn, convinces game players that monthly DRM checks may become normal.
Fortunately, Sony confirmed that he would not conduct such an inspection, but did not state why the timer was being installed. Some game players speculate that this might be done to prevent Sony from using the 14-day digital game return window (Engadget has contacted us for comments). The whole thing reminiscent of the bad memories that Xbox One had when it was released in 2013.MicrosoftIt was announced that the game was going to undergo a daily DRM check, but after strong opposition, it changed its course.
