IT House News, 3rd June, Technology Media Windows Central yesterday, 2 June, published an article in which during the 2026 Taipei International Computer Fair, it experienced the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra prototype and assessed that “this may be the best laptop to date”.
In terms of design, the Surface Laptop Ultra left side has 1 full-size HDMI and 2 USB-C, and the right side has 1 USB-C, 1 USB-A and 1 full-size SD card reader.
However, the right-hand USB-C is of a larger size and Microsoft does not explain why, and the media speculates that it may have a magnetic sucking or disconnect design similar to Surface Conect.
On the interactive side, Surface Laptop Ultra is equipped with Surface's largest touchboard in history to support Windows 11's new touch signal feedback.
The keyboard continues the Surface Laptop 8 handle, which the author believes may even calm down and exceed MacBook Pro. 15 inch Mini LED screen supports 120 Hz, sharp, and better color.
In terms of performance, Surface Laptop Ultra carries an RTX Spark processor, an Arm architecture chip that relies on Prism to run an x86 application that is not yet fit on Arm.
In the live presentation, multiple games and applications are operating in a simulated environment, and the media does not detect significant differences, but Microsoft and Yvette do not display FPS data.
On the noise side, Microsoft joined Surface Laptop Ultra with the largest fan in Surface PC history. The media feedback stated that the machine was largely quiet in general use, but that the sound of the fan could be heard a few feet away from a high load demonstration.
