It was last December that the Antigravity brand, in which Insta360 invested, unveiled a very innovative FPV drone, the A1, equipped with a 360° camera. His goal? Offer original shots and allow the user to concentrate only on piloting, and not on framing, since everything can be caught up in post-production. If this promise makes you want to make the purchase, know that the Antigravity A1, delivered with a battery of accessories, can cost you less than 1,200 euros.
The strong points of the Antigravity A1
- A very contained weight
- A drone that films 360° in 8K
- Immersive piloting with glasses and a controller
Initially priced at 1,399 euros, the Antigravity A1 with its Standard bundle is now available on sale for 1,119 euros at Darty and Fnac. For its part, the Explorer bundle is priced at 1,279 euros instead of 1,599 euros at Darty and Fnac, and a 300 euro gift card will be offered to you.

A lightweight drone that transforms the flying experience
The Antigravity A1 is an all-white drone, but above all very compact: its weight does not exceed 250 g, which allows it to integrate class C0, the most flexible of the regulatory categories. The pilot can therefore fly his drone without a certificate or exam, but a little training will never hurt. This small aircraft also has a lens installed in a double fish-eye lens head and several obstacle detection sensors, on the front and on its belly, but not at the rear, the drone only flying forward. On its belly there is also an electric landing gear, which deploys upon ignition and landing. Enough to protect the lower lens from any contact with the ground, fish-eye optics being very sensitive to snags on their lenses. And no, these prominent optics unfortunately do not have protection, but spare lenses are provided, at least.
This 360° FPV drone is distinguished above all by its rather atypical piloting mode, which combines a remote control with FPV glasses for total immersion. The glasses, called Vision Goggles, have three screens, one of which displays very practical video feedback. Inside, behind two lenses, there are OLED screens, which offer a simply immense image. The clear and well-thought-out interface of this headset really gives the pilot confidence, who also benefits from remarkable immersion.
Concerning the remote control, called Grip Motion Controller, it allows you to direct the drone with simple hand movements. Even if a few sessions are necessary to familiarize yourself with the controls, the flight experience remains intuitive overall.
8K 360° images
The Antigravity A1 can record 8K video at 30fps, or 5.7K at 30fps. Note, however, that exported images are systematically reduced to 4K definition. Above all, the drone films in 360°: this way, the pilot can concentrate on piloting, without worrying about framing. With the entire environment captured, it is then possible to reframe and choose the viewing angle afterwards. And since the image covers 360°, the digital stabilization is particularly effective, regardless of turbulence.
The A1 also has automatic routines, such as Sky Genie, which allows the drone to perform figures such as a spiral climb, or Deep Track, an automatic subject tracking function, which unfortunately shows its limits in flight. Fortunately, everything can be caught up in post-production. Finally, in terms of autonomy, the standard battery offers 24 minutes of flight: that doesn't seem like much, of course, but remember that the camera captures the entire scene in one go, which means you don't have to waste time adjusting framing or restarting a shot. If you need greater autonomy, you will need to turn to a high capacity battery (39 minutes of flight), but this being heavier, the drone could then fall into category C1.
