The MacBook Neo is so popular that Apple has doubled production

At the end of April, Tim Cook, CEO, said Applethat the customer’s response to the MacBook Neo is “extraordinary” and the popularity of the laptop reported that the company has significantly increased production.

Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst for the supply chain at Apple, said this week, he assumes that the delivery of MacBook Neo to Apple would eventually double from 5 million units to 10 million units in 2026 after the launch of the laptop in March.

Before the announcement, Apple was very optimistic about what the MacBook Neo was going on, but the company “underestimated” the enthusiasm that the notebook would cause. He said that the demand for MacBook Neo exceeded Apple's expectations and contributed to a record number of Mac buyers in the last quarter.

New figures from market research company IDC support Apple's assertion that MacBook Neo sells well and that Windows-PC industry has taken note of this. For example, Dell has recently introduced a redesigned XPS 13 notebook from $699 and said it has features “not found on a MacBook Neo”, such as a touchscreen and a backlight keyboard.

“Apples MacBook Neo is a powerful device, and its introduction confirms that there is a real interest in premium quality at affordable prices,” said Dell.

With a start price of $599 in the USA or 499 US dollars for students is the MacBook Neo Apple's most affordable MacBook ever. The laptop is powered by the A18 Pro chip of the iPhone and is available in colourful versions such as Citrus and Blush.

It is expected that next year a second generation MacBook Neo will be launched with an A19 Pro chip and 12 GB RAM.
