The Morning After: Apple's dramatic Siri overhaul is coming, and it could look like this:

WWDC is just around the corner.

Apple is preparing to re-introduce the new Siri at WWDC 2026, which is expected to happen soon. A report from Bloomberg provides an early preview of the update, along with a picture of what Apple's Gemini-based AI agent will look like when it finally launches. “The final version that will be released to the public in June may differ,” Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman added.

Siri will soon be housed inside iPhone's Dynamic Island, and just like before, you'll be able to wake the assistant by saying "Siri" or holding down your phone's power button.

Additionally, users can swipe down from the top center of the iPhone to bring up a new "Search or Ask" interface that incorporates elements of the current search interface in iOS 26. Along with the new elements, there are still Siri Suggestions, a list of recommended apps. Gurman suggested that Apple would allow people to use the interface to launch apps, start text messages, add calendar appointments, search for notes, and more.

The report also noted that Apple is considering giving users the option to access other AI services through this new interface, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. You can also see a dedicated Siri app that can appear on your home screen.

Siri will also stick around the camera app. The new mode replaces the company's existing Visual Intelligence feature (which was not fully implemented). This allows people to take a photo and run it through Google reverse image search or use a third-party AI agent to analyze the photo.

In the Photos app itself, Apple will reportedly offer new "Reframe" and "Expand" tools that, as the names suggest, will allow you to adjust the perspective of an image or use AI to generate visual elements. This is a feature we've already seen on Android devices. We hope Apple speeds up slow photo editing features with these new features.

Oura's Ring 5 is a much thinner smart ring.

Oura's new smart ring is 40% smaller than its predecessor. According to the company, downsizing such a small machine is non-negotiable. Redesigned to be smaller and more power efficient. The number of signal paths has been reduced from 18 in Ring 4 to 12 in Ring 5. However, the new model's LEDs are four times more powerful than the previous model and should provide more accurate readings.

Oura says users can get about a week of use on a single charge, and the new charging case has a built-in battery large enough to last for a month. Oura Ring 5 is currently available for pre-order starting at $399.

How to Run a Local AI Chatbot on iPhone

You can now run open chatbots on the latest iPhone. Local chatbots may not be as powerful as their cloud counterparts, but there are compelling reasons to ditch ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. First of all, using a local chatbot can save you money. Currently, running the local model on your iPhone requires a one-time purchase of up to $5. To use ChatGPT without ads, you'll need to spend at least $20 per month on OpenAI's Plus plan. There are other benefits as well, including privacy and eliminating the need for a constant Internet connection. Interested?

Valve has increased the price of Steam Deck by $300.

Valve has increased the price of Steam Deck "due to rising memory and storage costs." The price of the 512GB OLED model increased from $549 to $789. That’s an increase of $240. If you want more storage, the recurring cost for 1TB is $949. This is an increase of $300. It's almost 50%. "Steam Deck itself has not changed. These new prices reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistics issues across the industry," Valve said in an announcement. “We will keep you informed of any changes.” That doesn't bode well for the price of the incoming Steam Machine.
