According to information from IT House on 6 June, the Toyota Motors Company announced on 5 May that 102,300 new cars were sold on the Chinese market, a decrease of 31.7 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
Toyota has sold for four consecutive months less than the same period in the previous year. The decrease was further expanded from 25.4 per cent in April, owing to the decline in the sale of petrol.
However, “electric vehicles”, including hybrid vehicles (HVs), accounted for about 7 per cent of new vehicle sales. The sales of pure electric cars (EV) benefited from the new “bZ7” model, which was put on the market, among other things, and more than double the number of 13,700 during the same period of the previous year.
Other Japanese car manufacturers, according to the IT House yesterday, sold 28,279 cars in Honda in May, a decrease of 48.7 per cent over the same period and a decline of 28 months over the same period.
On the other hand, Japanese cars delayed the release of sales results beyond 8 June.
