The company’s CEO explains that the VR market is still difficult.

Vertigo Games will close Vertigo Studios Amsterdam. In the announcement published on X, Richard Stitselaar, CEO of the company, explained, “The VR market is still a difficult field,” and “The results of careful consideration.” Amsterdam’s studio was founded as Force Field Entertainment in 2015 and joined Vertigo Games in 2021. Vertigo is a member of the Embracer Group that faces serious financial issues over the last few years. As a result, the company has dis ed thousands of employees and sold one of the main assets (Gearbox Entertainment) at a sold price and announced the split into three different listed companies.

Vertigo Studios Rotterdam The company has two offices in the Netherlands (one in Amsterdam and Rotterdam), with a total of 150 employees. Vertigo Studios Amsterdam was founded by Guerrilla Games, the developer of Horzo Zero Dawn. Meanwhile, Rotterdam Studio developed the VR Z e Survival Series "Arizona Sunshine".
