Vertigo Games closes its office in Amsterdam. The game company focuses on VR titles, but calls this 'a challenging market'.
"Virtual reality remains a challenging market," the Dutch development studio writes on social media. “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close Vertigo Games Amsterdam.” The Amsterdam branch was first known as Force Field, but Vertigo parent company Embracer took over the studio in 2021 and renamed it Vertigo Games Amsterdam.
The company has released some major VR games in recent years, including Metro Awakening and Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow. Vertigo now has two offices left: one in Los Angeles and the main office in Rotterdam.
