Microsoft wants to make Windows 11's right-click menu 'faster, simpler and more customizable'. The company is not providing many details about this yet, but plans to do so soon. Microsoft has been struggling with the menu for some time, which can sometimes be long and confusing.
“We're working to make context menus faster, simpler by default, and more customizable to what you use most,” said Microsoft Vice President Marcus Ash. “We will share more about our approach soon.”
Ash's post is in response to an image from an This menu is also called the context menu.
With Windows 11, that right-click menu has been adjusted, which should have made it smaller and put the most commonly used commands closer to the mouse button. Commands that were barely used were hidden behind a 'Show more options' button.
However, these adjustments made the menu slower, probably because Windows only thinks about what to show when pressing the right mouse button. In addition, the menu still contains options that are probably not used often.
Microsoft wants users to be happier
Microsoft recently wants Windows to become faster and users to be more satisfied. For example, Microsoft recently released an update that should make the operating system faster and give users more control over the taskbar and the Start menu. This improvement also fits in with that.
