The cheaper XMG 18 Pro Value Edition takes a step back to the Core Ultra 7 270HX CPU and an RTX 5070, although this is the new version with half the VRAM. The panel used works at 180Hz, but otherwise retains the same specifications.
The memory and SSDs are upgradeable, for which standard SODIMM and M.2 modules are used. XMG provides the laptops with plenty of connections, including HDMI, mini-DP, Thunderbolt 4, Ethernet and an SD Express card reader. The chassis used has an aluminum cover for extra strength. The laptops weigh 2.8kg and are 2.5cm thick.
XMG will release the Pro 18 and Pro 18 Value Edition in August or September. The manufacturer cannot yet quote prices, due to the volatile prices of memory and SSDs.
Also updates for smaller laptops
In addition to the new 18" laptop, XMG is also showing several other new laptops. The existing XMG Neo 16 will be updated to the Core Ultra 200 Plus series and will be available for the first time with an OLED option. This screen has a 16:10 resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 240Hz and a DCI-P3 coverage of 100 percent.
In addition, the existing Apex 16, Apex 17 and Pro 16 VE will be available with the new mobile RTX 5070 video card with 12GB of RAM. All these models will be available between now and August via XMG's Bestware webshop, where you can configure them to your liking.
