XXL controller, reduced price: rated 9/10, the Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL, which can accommodate a smartphone or an iPad Pro, costs less than €170

Authors

If the Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL mobile controller manages to stand out from the competition, it is largely thanks to its compatibility with tablets up to 13 inches (hello iPad Pro), where many rivals are content to accommodate smartphones that are not too imposing. It is therefore much more interesting than the classic version, to which we still gave a score of 9/10. The XL model was, however, way too expensive when it was released, but a 33% reduction now makes it more accessible.

The essential points of the Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL

- A controller compatible with smartphones and tablets

- Feature-rich software

- The integration of sticks using TMR technology

Launched at 239.99 euros, the Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL controller is today available on sale at 161.89 euros on Amazon.

A large, well-designed controller

The Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL controller is therefore an XXL model which can accommodate smartphones, but also tablets of up to 13 inches, which can be installed on the extendable central part. However, your device must have a USB-C port to connect to the controller. And no, this controller is not a Bluetooth model, but at least the wired connection allows you to benefit from very low in-game latency. Furthermore, the brand provides three pairs of erasers, suitable for iPhones, Android smartphones and iPad minis, which allow you to hold the device securely. But use without gum is obviously permitted, especially if your smartphone has a thick shell.

On the button side, the Kishi V3 Pro XL is equipped with sticks using TMR technology, an alternative to Hall effect sensors. It’s simple: they offer great precision while significantly reducing the risk of drift. The joystick tips are also interchangeable. Both types (concave or convex) are supplied, but not as a pair, unfortunately.

For the rest, you have mecha-tactile ABXY buttons with a clear and audible click (we like it, but some might be bothered by the noisy side), a precise directional cross designed to facilitate quarters and halfs, analog triggers or even four customizable buttons.

Software with a host of features

The Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL is also equipped with a Sensa HD vibration system, very pleasant and precise... but only compatible with Android and Windows. Damage. On the software side, Razer provides its Nexus application, developed as a console interface for smartphones and still as rich in functionality. Above, we can notably connect physical keys to areas of the screen. Also note that Razer offers a Remote Play function to play PC games remotely.

Finally, the Kishi V3 Pro XL sports an external USB-C port to pass charging from the device to the internal USB-C port that connects to the smartphone. A jack port is also present for connecting a wired headset.
