You can now book a hotel using the Uber app

Uber held its annual product presentation on Wednesday and the company had an interesting update for those looking for a place where they can rest for one or two nights. At Uber Go-It turned out that the hotel booking is integrated into the app. This option is now available in the USA.

You can start by tapping the “Hotels” button on the app’s start screen. After entering your destination, you can find a hotel that meets your requirements using multiple filters.

Uber has joined Expedia to make this possible. It offers access to more than 700,000 hotels around the globe. For Uber One members there are solid benefits, as they receive discounts and 10 percent of their booking payment as a Uber credit. Therefore, you may take over trips from and to the airport without additional costs.

This is not all, because Uber is also entering the holiday rental. Entries from VRBO will be added later this year.

There is another welcome update for Uber One members. From 1 June onwards, they can use the Uber credit they receive through Uber One in each of the dozens of countries where the subscription is available. At present, the credit acquired via Uber One can only be used in the home country of the subscriber.

Uber's travel mode shows you how the app works at your location

If you use Uber or Uber Eats outside your hometown, the app will soon change to the travel mode. This is a new feature that describes in detail what is different with Uber (including prices) and how it works where you are right now. The travel mode also offers a curated list of recommended places in the area. Of course, it is a children's game to book a ride to one of these places. Restaurant recommendations can be found on the way to Uber Eats and the possibility to make a reservation via OpenTable.

At another point, the company announced that in certain cities you can order a snack or a drink with a Uber Black ride. After you have booked a ride in one of these vehicles at Uber Reserve, you can tap the “Add Uber Eats” command prompt and select something to eat or drink. The driver will pick it up on his way to you.

With a function called “Shop for Me” you can apparently shop in any business, even if it is not yet available in the Uber app. Find a business and describe what you want – You can also add photos – and a buyer will look for it. Uber says that this courier needs a confirmation from you before buying the item for which you have to pay the price in the store.

In addition, Uber will shortly offer an AI-based language booking option, so you can easily describe what you want or where you want. The company has also updated the app to offer a uniform search bar for trips, food, food and other items.
