You can now ask Gemini in Drive to browse your Gmail account
The function is now for legitimate Google Workspace, AI Pro and Ultra subscribers available.
browsing e-mails in search of things can be laborious, but subscribers and corporate customers of GoAI can do this now using AI. Google’s “Ask Gemini in Drive” function, announced in March, can now use Gmail as a source as it is already possible with drive folders and files. This means that you can ask him questions about Gmail threads that include emails, files and folders, “to ensure as helpful and accurate answers as possible,” said Google in his Workspace Updates blog.
To use the new feature, you must have subscribed to Google AI Pro or Ultra or be a business or enterprise user. To use it, select Gmail from the sources in the left pane and then click the “Ask Gemini” button at the top right. You can then ask a question how “Find the email in which I have received permission for the Jenkins project”, and it will (hopefully) find the relevant question.
“Users can participate in context-rich, multi-layered conversations to efficiently explore and understand content,” explains Google. “Users can anchor their answers in a complete view of their business context – emails, files and folders – to get as helpful and accurate answers as possible.” The function is no longer in the beta phase and is generally available for legitimate workspace and Google AI plans.
